Send with Zoho Mail from Emerge
Zoho Mail is a business email suite used by millions of small businesses. Connect your Zoho mailbox to Emerge and your emails go out from your real address, through Zoho's own servers — like connecting Gmail or Outlook, with an app password instead of a sign-in.
Why use Zoho Mail with Emerge
- Businesses whose email lives in Zoho Mail
- Personal-feeling outreach and small newsletters from your own mailbox
- Site and WordPress email from your business address
- Your domain and reputation stay yours — Emerge adds contacts, templates, campaigns, automations, tracking and bounce handling on top
1. Get your Zoho Mail credentials
- 1
Generate an app password
Sign in at accounts.zoho.com and open Security → App Passwords → Generate New Password. Name it Emerge and copy the password — it's shown once. (App passwords appear once two-factor authentication is on.)
- 2
Check SMTP access
In Zoho Mail open Settings → Mail Accounts → IMAP/POP/SMTP and make sure SMTP access is allowed. Whether it's available depends on your Zoho Mail plan.
- 3
Find your SMTP server
Organization accounts (your own domain) use smtppro.zoho.com and personal @zohomail.com accounts use smtp.zoho.com — with your data center's ending instead of .com if you're on zoho.in, zoho.eu and so on.
2. Authenticate your sending domain
SPF, DKIM and DMARC are what let inboxes trust your mail — without them it’s far more likely to land in spam.
- 1
Authenticate your domain
For an own-domain account, add Zoho's SPF and DKIM records in Zoho Mail Admin Console → Domains → your domain → Email Configuration, plus a DMARC record.
3. Connect Zoho Mail in Emerge
In Emerge, open Senders, click the provider's button and fill in the form. Emerge checks the credentials with the provider before saving anything, and stores them encrypted.
- Zoho Mail address
- The mailbox you send from (also its SMTP username).
- App password
- From Zoho Account → Security → App Passwords.
- SMTP server
- Pick yours from the list — organization (smtppro) or personal, by data center.
Then send yourself a test email from the sender’s row. You can add more senders to the same pool — Emerge rotates between them and moves on if one fails or hits its limit.
4. Report bounces and complaints back
Addresses Zoho's server refuses at send time are recorded as bounces in Emerge automatically. Bounce notices that arrive later land in your Zoho inbox.
Once bounces come back, Emerge stops sending to those addresses, and pauses a campaign whose bounce or complaint rate gets too high.
Good to know
- Zoho caps how many emails a mailbox sends a day — set a daily quota on the sender in Emerge to stay under it, and add more mailboxes to the pool for more volume.
- Emerge connects on port 465 (SSL) for you.
- To send as an alias, add it in Zoho Mail first, then set it as the sender's From override in Emerge.
